THERE ARE NO WEATHER RELATED INCIDENTS AT THIS TIME.

CONSTRUCTION EVENTS

• INDIAN CANYON DRIVE AT TRAMVIEW ROAD- The Avalon Development,
located on Indian Canyon Drive near Tramview, will be performing road
construction work including median island construction and paving work beginning
August 27th. The project is still ongoing.

• RAMON ROAD BETWEEN SR111 (GENE AUTRY TRAIL) AND SAN LUIS REYThe
Springs, located on the north side of Ramon Road and Gene Autry Trail, continues with
construction activities on Ramon Road between San Luis Rey and Gene Autry Trail. The majority
of the work is beginning completed in the evening and lane widths are reduced. Work will be
ongoing for several more weeks.

• EAST PALM CANYON DRIVE BETWEEN FARRELL DRIVE AND SMOKE TREE LANESmoke
Tree Commons, located at E. Palm Canyon Drive and Farrell Drive, will begin work on
sewer lines on November 27th. Traffic control will prevent traffic from making left turns at
Farrell Barona from E. Palm Canyon Drive. To access Barona Road southbound from E. Palm
Canyon Drive use Araby Drive. To access Farrell Drive northbound from E. Palm Canyon use
Sunrise Way to Sonora. Work is scheduled to continue for three weeks.

• SUNRSIE WAY AND SR 111 (VISTA CHINO ROAD)- Beginning December 11, 2007 and
continuing through the end of January, 2008, construction will take place to widen the South side
of Vista Chino at the Southwest Corner of Vista Chino and Sunrise Way. Traffic controls will
be in place during working hours closing the Southernmost Eastbound lane on Vista Chino,
and when necessary, the Westernmost Southbound lane on Sunrise Way, restricting Vista
Chino and Sunrise Way to one lane of travel in the Eastbound and Southbound directions.
During most phases of the work, all lanes will open to normal operation at the end of the working
day. Motorists should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
This project is being done by the City of Palm Springs in conjunction with Caltrans and when
completed will widen the South side of Vista Chino at Sunrise way to allow for a right hand turning
lane. The work involves the removal and replacement of the existing curbs, gutters and storm
drain inlets as well as a modification of the existing traffic signal. Dateland Construction is the
Contractor.

• SUNRSIE WAY AND SR 111 (VISTA CHINO ROAD)- Southern California Edison will be closing
the center northbound lane on Sunrise Way south of Vista Chino from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on
December 19th to inspect the wires in the manhole at that location.
Southern California Edison will then return to the northbound lane on Sunrise Way south of
Vista Chino on January 3rd to conduct repairs according to their inspection. SCE expects to

have the northbound number one lane closed beginning at 9:00 am and reopening the lanes at
3:00 pm.

• INDIAN CANYON DRIVE AT ANDREAS ROAD - Southern California Edison will be closing the
center lane on Indian Canyon Drive at Andreas Road on December 21st from 9:00 am – 3:00
pm to repair the electrical facilities located in a manhole at that location. Drivers are asked to use
extreme caution while passing through the area.

• EAST PALM CANYON AND CHEROKEE WAY – Contractors for the new BMW Dealership will
be constructing street improvements from on E. Palm Canyon from Cherokee Way west for about
1500’. Traffic will be restricted to one lane eastbound and one last westbound. Traffic
controls will be in place between the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm beginning December 17, 2007.
This phase of the project is scheduled to be completed December 21st.
Maintenance and Operations workers risk their lives every day working on open freeways,
highways and local roads and are true unsung heroes of transportation. Please watch for
routine and emergency maintenance operations around town.

Palm Canyon Drive is closed every Thursday night between Amado Road and
Baristo Road from 5:00 pm – 11:00pm for the Village Fest
